Michael Burnett

“One of our greatest thinkers, Albert Einstein, knew "Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them." Having an external sounding board is one of the most valuable assets to a small business owner.”

Michael recognises that most small business owners and committee members have a real love of what they do and a desire to control their own destiny.  He makes their financial and tax issues as hassle-free as possible, so they can spend more time working on parts of the business that they enjoy and make them more successful.

Michael has been a Partner of Accru Hobart for over 20 years and while being responsive to the ever changing business environment, is proud of where the firm is today. Accru Hobart stands on core values of Authentic, Focused, Solution Enablers. Bringing these values together forms a strong ground to help their clients achieve over and beyond their expectations.

Working with a range of business sizes and types including those in the construction industry, property development and retail, Michael’s technical skills include tax planning, business structures and financial management. Michael is also an auditor for a large range of entities including many clubs and associations in the non-profit sector.

As Michael says “People come to us asking questions, sometimes even lost in confusion, and we give them comprehensible solutions. This is particularly evident in the first year or two of beginning a business venture when there is so much to be learning. We speak a language our clients understand.”

Michael is the Chairman of the CPAAI Asia Pacific Region, he also holds positions on the Boards of Gymnastics Australia, Caritas Australia and is Treasurer of CPAAI.
