Staff in profile – Fiona’s Story

I began my career with Accru Hobart as a Junior Accountant, in 2009. I went to university part-time while working full-time, learning so much more at work than at uni.

Accru supported me through my studies, allowing paid study time and there was always someone to bounce queries off.

I finished University and progressed through the Chartered Accountants Program. Throughout this time, I was meeting with clients, completing small business financial statements, tax returns and tax planning. I was also working with our Valuation leads at the time, Tim Lane and Courtney Telega, learning the ropes and processes of business valuations and advisory.

Now, some 12 years later, I’m a Partner in the business. I get to help shape our strategic future, work with our team on development, and work with clients to solve the issues that keep them up at night – be it valuation, advisory or tax related.

Accru Hobart has allowed me to be flexible throughout study, given me opportunities to travel for training and time off to go to concert after concert. What I love about working with our team is that we all get to know each other, and we all support one another.
